Delene Stone Memorial Scholarship
Mrs. Delene Stone, a dedicated Motlow employee from 1979 until 2007, served in various roles including Director of the Industrial and Business Institute, Administrative Assistant to the President, and Director of Development. She was foremost a professional who worked to promote Motlow College in all endeavors. To honor her excellent work for the college, the Motlow College Foundation has endowed the Delene Stone Memorial Scholarship. The scholarship will be awarded annually to a current Motlow College student as funds are available from the endowment. This scholarship may award up to $1000 per year with up to $500 paid per semester dependent upon the amount of other scholarships or grants the recipient may receive. Application and academic information may be shared with donor/selection committee during the application process and review for retention. The scholarship is awarded to a student for one academic year. REMINDER: All scholarships are subject to the availability of funding and continuation for a second semester is not guaranteed.
•Earned 24 hours of collegiate level credits (not including remedial and/or developmental credits).
•Maintain a cumulative GPA of 2.0 or higher.
•Reside in one of the eleven (11) counties in the Motlow service area.
•Non-traditional (25 years of age or older).
•Enrolled in a minimum of six (6) collegiate credit hours per semester while on the scholarship.
•Reapplication is required each academic year.
In order to maintain the scholarship, the recipient must:
•Maintain a 2.0 term GPA during the time you are receiving the scholarship.
•Maintain enrollment in a minimum of six (6) collegiate credit hours per semester while on the scholarship.
The scholarship selection committee will consist of:
• Member of the Stone Family
•Director of the Motlow College Foundation
•Treasurer of the Motlow College Foundation
•Executive Director of Financial Aid or Designee
